Rou Jin's Lesson

Please check out how prepared Rou Jon was for her lesson presentation. She taught a reading lesson and what struck me was that after asking students to read silently, she went through each para with the students and discussed the answers with the students as she goes through each paragraph. She asked for evidence which could be found from each paragraph. She stumbled a little as she went through the synonym activity without a dictionary. It was however good that she made the students guess the meaning from reading the text. Well done Jin. Also almost perfect in her lesson planning

  2. Hi
    First of all, Ruojin is fully prepared for her presentation, the dress, the hair, and the make up. I love it! She is a

    pretty teacher! She talks to the students tenderly and clearly. The thing I like most in her lesson is the second activity.

    She asks students to draw their own advertisement. She even prepares the pens and papers for the students. I think it’s a

    creative activity. I believe it’s a good lesson. Well done!

  3. Hi everyone.
    As cherry said, Roujin is fully prepared, whatever her dress and her behaviour, are just as same as a teacher. She takes care of low level students, go through every questions with evidences. The topic she choosed is a common sense tht every body knows, students can simply understand the main idea of the text. I like your lesson.

  4. We can see Rou Jin dressed very well shows that she got fully prepared. She had a clear, strong voice, and very confident. She handled the class very well and involved all students participant study progress actively. I like the way that she lead us to do exercises. And I do like the advertisement activity. It gave the rein to students’ imagination and made learning progress more interesting, but I afraid that students may not have enough time to do it well. Overall, Rou Jin did a great job.

  5. Hi everyone,
    First of all, I would like to thank all of you for the participation in my class. Thank you Mdm Adele for the tips that she gave. Well, it's really awkward to comment on our own presentation. Anyway, for me, in the real class in future, I don't think that that article is suitable. The comprehension questions should be more critical because as you can see,the questions are direct in the sense that we can easily get the answers by scanning the text. I will reconsider the synonymy part as what Mdm Adele said, what if they forgot about their dictionary. Overall, I'm a bit nervous for our real class in future because we need to handle the "real" 40 students. They have different attitudes and we might some how face problems in conducting our lesson plan. I wish all the best for all of you and I'm looking forward for my next presentation. Thank you everyone. :)

  6. Game point,

    Rou Jin, rou Jon, tomaytoe, tomuhtoe....

    rou Jin,
    You works from your mistakes. Build from your successes. learn from others' mistakes too. Overall your friends concurred with me. Hmmm they especially like the advertisement activity. One was concerned with time. Take that into consideration in your next planning.

  7. Hi, everyone.
    Rou Jin appears particularly attractive in class. Your voice is clear and gentle. I like the way that you express ideas to the students-naturally and smoothly. The selection of reading material is suitable and good. Yet the topic may not be so appealing to me. But the activity of illustrating can be interesting and engage students to brainstorm. Overall, you have done your presentation well.

  10. 1. She dresses properly.
    2. the class structure is good.
    3. have some interaction with students
    4. guessing the meaning of the word in context still need to be reconsidered because i think it will be a little difficult to catch students' attention.

  11. Hi everyone, for Rou Jin's lesson i think it was well structured and she have a good communication skill with the students. all the activity that given was suitable for form4 students because it is not too difficult and not too easy either. Even though few of the words are difficult in worksheet 2 but somehow she still can ask them to do it as homework. Overall, her teaching is good.

  12. Hi! Sorry for being the last person to comment. #mybad

    Rou Jing was helping her students a lot by guiding them answering the questions paragraph by paragraph. By pausing at certain sentences and explained the content to the class, it helps them to have better understanding in the lesson.

    To improve, she could changed the last part of the activity to be the set induction. She can make the students drawing with colourful pens she have to attract student's attention.

  13. Good news to Fifi, you are not the last one to comment.

    Rou Jing's lesson is well structured and she has a nice voice.
    The question and materials might be easy. The selection of the article and picture is good.
    If students forgot to bring dictionary, try to prepare an activity for students guess words through text. I think this is more interesting and effective.

  14. Did well:
    1. Her lesson was well prepared;
    2. Voice projection was good enough;
    3. She dressed very well and very Malay style;
    4. She related her teaching strategy with her own experience, so that she knows what students need;

    Need to improve:
    1. Her lesson will be better if she make the class more student centered;
    2. She could give more explanation to the wrong answer that students given;
    3. Don`t give student too much stress, but facilitate them on their weaker understanding
