Alwana's Lesson

I love the clip she showed in class. Her language use was good. It is good that she asked students to identify nouns from the song. However she didnot discuss the nouns which students have identified. Pleas explain and provide a sample of tag if students havent had any exposure to creating tags. Differentiate verbs from nouns in the tags provided, for eg. Bunmi's 'live, laugh and love'. Overall, good first presentation.

  1. Alwana is an efficient teacher. She definitely did a thorough preparation. The topic and videos she has chosen are profound and meaningful. To make her lesson better, she needs to give clearer instructions as sometimes she speaks too fast as well as make comments on students' product. In that way, students learn how to improve and the teacher also understands students' mastery of the lesson.

  2. Alwana's lesson is meaningful as it promotes to students the idea of harmony and humanity. Teaching aids used were good and relevant to the topic, and managed to catch students' attention. Activity is a little brief and might be too easy for the higher proficiency students, can be improvised by including different types of activities for students of different proficiency level. No doubt, Alwana is well prepared but I think that she has to let go more and not be afraid to make mistakes in order to enjoy her lesson as it progresses, like how we enjoy it!

  3. I agree with Wendy and PeiPei.
Personally I believe Alwana is very likable as a teacher, her pronunciation is very good, her organisation and preparation of the materials as well. The tasks could have been a little bit more complex but overall I enjoyed it :) Joy

  4. She presented her lesson well and the timing was ok,voice projection was good. I think printing out the song lyrics and making sure that the students have a copy in each group could have really improve the activities in the classroom .

  6. Alwana's lesson was very organized. Her instructions was clear and good voice projection. I like the clip and the song she played in the class and they were very connected to the topic, good teaching aids. However, when she asked the students to make a tagline using noun from the song, she did not provide an example and explain about the tagline as some students might not know what a tagline is.

  7. Wana, you prepared well. Everything was good, the videos, activities but should engage with the students more. And one thing, Smile :)

  8. A very meaningful lesson and would interest the class since she played songs in the beginning, but students at the back may lose interest because the video had no lyrics to accompany by- especially when she repeats it and did not clarify some of the nouns highlighted.

I like her voice projection! Clear, precise instruction makes it easier to understand. :)
