Effandi's Lesson

Fandi used a really nice clip. Very engaging as students were glued to it. He looked very formal. Good. Two major concerns I have are the lesson plans which were not well written and structured, and Fandi's spoken language in class. You really need to use the language a lot more. There are no shortcuts here. Friends, make sure you help him with this. Always get someone to look through your work before using it in class. Bunmi has offered to look through fandi's lessons before duedate. Thanks Bunmi.

  1. Good points—The explanation of the video about global warming is easy to understand and useful. It covers the causes and strategies, which is closely related to his following activities. The demand of connecting the activities is met in his lesson. His idea of dividing students into different groups is worth using so that students have the chance to work with different partners. On top of that, he had a desirable suit today with a warm smile and passion.
Aspects to work on—Despite of the interesting activities and a wonderful video clip, I did not see the set induction of Fendi’s class. He immediately told his students that they are going to watch a video and did not provide questions. Therefore, it took students sometime to figure out what they should focus while watching the video. In speaking class, listening skills are developed along, so listening with a purpose can be a fantastic way to develop students’ listening ability. As for debate, more modification is needed for the question and the way students debate.
