Hemah's Lesson

Jeans Hemah....Hemah has good voice projection and rewarded students with chocs. My biggest concern was that she didnot include a task or activity after students read the article on dreams. Her focus was too much on grammar: adjective, phrasal verbs, affixes etc. Grammar should be taught in context and take only a small part of the lesson. What else have I missed?

  1. Good points: Hemah is very enthusiastic, her passion and voice are able to attract students’ attention; good eye contact with her students; the theme—“dream” is suitable for form 1 students; she taught grammar in the context, and asked students to give examples;

    Aspects to work on: the passage is bit long for form 1 students and it too profound for them to understand, such as inspiration, motivation because they are just kids and have not had enough experience to understand the power of these words.

  2. Hemah's voice projection was good and her instructions were clear. She was likable, enthusiastic and approachable. She focused too much on the grammar aspect, though. I loved her video.

  3. Overall Hemah did a good job, her voice was loud and very clear, so were her instructions and explanation. The topic is also very interesting and it has a great message of 'everyone has the right to dream". The only thing was that the vocabulary and the passage were a little bit too hard for form 1 students. But her confidence, smile were perfect. Chocolates do attract students to be more active. In her defends, the pant were material - not jeans, from what I've noticed :)

  4. Voice projection was clear, good interaction with the students, brilliant idea to get students participate by rewarding them. The students will learn more if she focused only on 1 activity of grammar. One more thing, it is good that she was enthusiastic however, to some extent I was a bit distracted by her movement,(too much movement). But still, it was a good performance..Good job..

  5. I think Hemah was enthusiastic and energetic when she presented her lesson. Too much movement might distract some students(as Alwana mentioned) but at the same it also might grab others' attention to follow the lesson. Her voice was very clear and it was good that she tried to involve every student to participate. Too much things to learn in one lesson, she could be more specific on the grammar/ vocab items. overall, it was an enjoyable lesson.

  7. Hemah ! your students will always love your class, you reward the students with chocolates . Well good presentation with loud voice ,you allow more students participation which was so good . The lesson plan will be suitable for form 3/4 based on the grammar exercise ,its too high for form 1 students. Above all ,it was nice presentation .

  8. It so was jeans filipolka. :-) nobody mentioned about her tardiness? Hmm must be the chocs... Must be punctual. Most of you think that some of the activities needed to be more specific and easier for the Lower proficiency students. I agree. There weren't activities for the weaker students. Could anyone search for sites with activities for the weaker students, please?
