Mubarak's Party Poppers

The set induction: colourful...yet is it suitable for 16-17year olds? How many candles do you see in the pic?
He introduced these phrases as new words. I was worried. These are not new to many of our teenagers. Perhaps in very rural areas of Malaysia and Cambodia. I really hope Mubarak will have a different view of the Malaysian students after he has observed a lesson at BBBS tomorrow.
He then made the students repeat after him. 'Wait up'. All: 'Wait up'. 'What's up'. All: 'What's up'. Nooooooooo! Never make students repeat after you in class. Nooooooooooooooooooo. They will make fun of you! Repeating aloud does not have a purpose in an English lesson actually. It is not meaningful and is unsuitable for the 16-17 year olds. If it was done in my son's class, (he is 8), he would think that it is too childish. Think about this Mubarak dearie.
He followed through with his theme: party and that is good. The audio was also about a party. Although, we couldn't really hear it because of technical errors.
Overall he did okay. Not good, but okay. He looked great though. And his demeanour was wonderful in class. (Someone in class thinks that you have good genes :-) ). I think it's Fifi. Mubarak, it is okay to make mistakes. That is why you're here. I don't mind if you want to present a third lesson although the others only presented twice. If it will help you improve and get better marks, I'll allow it. Besides, we still have time before your exam week. Let me know and don't get discouraged!

  1. Good voice with easy language means he knows what he is teaching. I want to say his class is too easy. the "new words" are not new anymore.I want to say the choice of material. It is too easy.

  2. Nice dress. Good voice plus simple language means easy to understand and he knows content very well.
I want to point out material is too easy and the explanation might not really accurate. As I know, "what's up" normally is saying "how are you doing".

  4. Good evening guys
    Good points
You will become girls' favourite teacher, because of your atttitude, your behaviour, and as siew inn and rou jin said, your handsome appearance. Haha~
We can see that your class was well prepared, interesting set induction, and the way how you let students to share their experiences.

    Improvements
Like we discussed in the class, it is not necessary to read those new words for Form 4 students.
Try to make the meaning of the new words professionally, if the meaning is not clear, it may misleading the students.
    Thank you~

  5. Hi everyone,
You dressed properly that day. Nice suit! Your topic chosen was about birthday party. I liked the part that you asked students to recall how they celebrated their birthday. It was related to their life experience.
There are some suggestions for you. Firstly, targeted group should be focused on Form 4, instead of Form2. Even for Form2, the content you wanted to teach was easy for students. It may make students feel bored during the lesson. Secondly, the worksheet should be improved. For the words activity, I think that the words explanations were not all correct. For the listening part, you gave the content which will be heard in the audio clip. In this way, how can students practice their listening?
Your class performance is really good, just work on your lesson design. Well done.

  6. Hi everyone!

It is good that he ask the students to share their birthday experiences to the class, it connect with the lesson's topic.

On the other hand, i think you should to more prepared next time. For example, the audio is not very clear and there are

mistakes in the handout. Anyway, the lesson's structure is good, i can see the connection between each stages. However, the

lesson is too easy for the from 4 students to learn, and be wise when you choose the materials next time. Thank you.
